Barred R RabbitrySky's the Limit Specializing in Standard Rex Rabbits With Holland Lops
Rex In Colors --REW (Red eye white), Black, Castor, Chinchilla, Broken Black, Broken Blue, Broken Castor, Broken Chinchilla, Broken Opal. Holland Lops in Siamese Sable, Tort, Tortoise Shell, and Broken
This
Urban Farm is a way to recapture the good ole days, the simple days,
when one knew where their food came from, because they raised it and
prepared it themselves. I've always been an "earthy" person, interested
in herbs, and the natural way of life. And I have always had a love for
animals as well. The chickens have found a new home and I am now
concentrating on rabbits. My original purpose was to raise
a variety for my dogs raw diet. But of course, why get a regular rabbit
when I can get a show rabbit! I added some Holland Lops for show and pets. See the rabbit page for show and meat rabbits.
Barred R is a small but growing rabbitry,
with less than twenty holes, but working on quality worth showing. The sky's the limit!

Rexes as Meat Rabbits
Rexes
are considered a commercial breed of rabbits, used for meat and for
their fur. As good meat rabbits, they have a low bone to meat ratio,
reaching the full weight early on. Rex are usually culled at 16-18 weeks for fryers, older for roasters and fur.

Sales Policy
This rabbitry is a closed rabbitry~ meaning we do not allow visitors to the rabbitry, for the safety of my family, the rabbits and to prevent the transmission of diseases. I will send pictures of any rabbits you may be interested in by email or text and will be more than happy to arrange a meeting in a public area convenient for both parties. Rabbits are sold on a first come first serve basis, and I will not hold rabbits without a non refundable deposit.
Health
We
guarantee that the rabbit is healthy to the best of our knowledge when
it leaves our barn. Feel free to examine the rabbit so that you can see
for yourselves that it is healthy. Once the rabbit leaves our barn, its
the new
owners responsibility for its health.
Quality
The
quality of the rabbit is reflected in the price. Pet rabbits for Rexes start at
$25, hollands at $35 (they are harder to breed and have smaller litters) and will be sold without a pedigree, with a birth certificate and
with PET tattooed in their ear. Breeding and show rabbits can cost
upwards of $75 easily, depending on color, type, age and show wins. All
breeding/show quality rabbits will come with a three generation signed
pedigree. Quality is based on the assessment at the time of sale. We do
not guarantee show results. In fact since every judge is different its
not
possible to predict results anyway. Deposits
Deposits
are 50% of the price of the rabbit, made in advance, with the other
half due at pickup (I do not ship rabbits). Deposits are non refundable,
simply because the problem is
you’ve held unto a rabbit, and may have missed out on opportunities for
other sales while you waited for that customers. Our policy is for
holding with deposit for two weeks, after which the deposit if forfeited
and the rabbit will again be made available.
All sales are final-Return Policy
We do not accept returns unless otherwise stated. I know that seems
somewhat harsh, however there is a very simple reason for it. When we sell
a rabbit, we generally fill that slot in our rabbitry with something else.
That means if someone wants to return a rabbit, we don’t have space
available for it any longer. However, due to the
inconvenience when we actually do take a rabbit back, we do not refund the
money, but will on occasion offer a replacement.
Price Schedule Pet $25-35 Show quality 4mos and up $40-65 Proven doe/buck (only show quality rabbits are bred)$40-$75 Rabbits with legs $60 and up
Rabbit Ratings Show Quality- the rabbit is free from disqualifying faults , to the best of my knowledge. I make no guarantees of show wins.
Brood
Quality- the rabbit lacks something to be a competitive show rabbit,
but should make an excellent breeder. Proven means the animal has been
bred before and produces quality animals.
Pet Quality- the rabbit is not to be bred or shown, and will not be sold with a pedigree.
Sale Pending- the rabbit has some serious inquires made, but inquires are still welcomed
On Hold- the rabbit has an nonrefundable deposit on it
Sold- the rabbit is no longer here
